David Lamkins picked up his first guitar a long time ago. As best he can recall the year was 1967: the year of the Summer of Love. Four decades later David has conjured up an amalgam of folk, rock and jazz solo guitar music for the occasional intimate Portland audience.

Navigation Hints

  1. Click the gray divider between the top section and the content section to scroll the top section out of the way.*
  2. Click the title just above the content to maximize the article for viewing.* This hides most of the information and navigation displays and makes the entire article visible at once. This is the best way for iPhone and iPod Touch users to read an article. Click the title again to restore the normal view.
  3. iPhone and iPod Touch users can scroll the article content in the normal view by using two fingers.
* This won't work with Internet Explorer 6.

Permanent Links

Feel free to publish links to any article on this site. Please copy the gray link at the very top of the page. The gray link will be different from the link in your browser's location bar, but is more concise and more likely to work in the future.

New Location, New Look

I moved this site to its own domain in July 2008. If you're a visitor to the old site, you've been redirected here; please note that the URL has changed. You will reach this page at http://lamkins-guitar.com/.

I've redesigned the appearance of the site for a cleaner, less-cluttered look. The navigation is mostly unchanged and should be familiar to visitors of the old site.

Removed Content

My amp-building articles have been moved to the Archive section of my personal web site.

Compatibility with Old URLs

You should be able to go directly to the proper article, content list or search results using old URLs like the following:

Old links to images won't work.

Problems?

I've been careful to program the site using standard HTML, CSS and Javascript. This site should be usable on all modern browsers.

Modern browsers include current versions of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera and iCab. Camino works except for a few minor layout issues. Internet Explorer 6 mostly works, but is still a thorn in every web developer's side because we have to jump through hoops to make it sort-of work; would y'all please upgrade?

If you encounter any problems, I'd appreciate your taking a moment to send me an email with a description of the problem and the URL that you typed or linked from (which will probably be different from the URL displayed in your browser's location bar.) If there's an issue regarding layout or rendering, I'd appreciate a screen clipping of the affected area if you can manage it; if not, I'd still appreciate a report with the best description you can provide.
