How Can We Solve the Problems of the Future?
Dr. Homer-Dixon conducts research on social adaptation to complex stress, the links between environmental stress and violence in developing countries, and the causes of ethnic and other group-identity conflicts. His books include Environment, Scarcity, and Violence and Ecoviolence: Links among Environment, Population, and Security. His latest book, The Ingenuity Gap, will be published this fall. Dr. Homer-Dixon has been invited to speak on his research at major American universities, West Point, the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the UN Population and Development Conference. He has twice briefed the Vice President of the United States, Al Gore, on his team's research.
