was originally scheduled to address the Vancouver Institute on February 27, 2010 at 8:15 p.m., Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Because of a conflict with the 2010 Olympics, this lecture has been POSTPONED.
Dr. Lollar completed an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cambridge University before joining the University of Toronto, where she is Director of the Stable Isotope Laboratory. Major themes in her area of research include geochemical and biogeochemical processes controlling the source, transport and transformation of organic contaminants and hydrocarbon gases in near surface groundwaters; gas production and migration in sedimentary basins and deep Canadian Shield groundwaters; and geochemical controls on the deep biosphere and deep subsurface microbiology. In 2000, she was profiled as one of TIME Magazine’s “Leaders for the 21st Century” based on her research on innovative techniques for tracking organic contaminants in groundwater.
