Eric, Lloyd and other "individuals",
Thanks for being so understanding :-)  I am sorry this thread is going 
on in a direction it was not intended to.  I apologize for offending 
"IETF culture".  As a group of individuals interested in getting 
technical responses to our technical concerns, can we re-focus on the 
technical issues raised collectively by individuals that I work with (I 
hope this description is acceptable)?  Let us get a technical 
discussion going, please!

    Thanks.  As an individual, I am interested in hearing from other
individuals who can help me to understand what is useful work and
what is not.  I am so interested in hearing this, that I will go to some
lengths to discourage others from censuring them.  I believe it is even
possible that I am not alone among the many individuals participating 
in,
or listening to, this discussion in feeling this way.

    But I could be wrong, and you're certainly entitled to express your 
own
opinion.
