BER value of TLV in LMP-WDM

Dear all,

I am not sure that this has been discussed or not yet.
Regarding the bit error ratio (BER) value of TLV defined in LMP-WDM draft,
the applicable BER or BER threshold is defined to set as 1x10^(-5) or 1x10^(-7).

From the carrier's point of view, this value is a little bit coarse,
and a finer value such as 3.2x10^(-9) or 5.8x10^(-5) is preferable.
(fortunately, some bits are still reserved)

Imagining that the future OLS will have a forward error correction (FEC)
function,
the BER can be kept high even with some degradation, however, it may
suddenly degrade
once quite large degradation occurs. (this is mainly coming from the very
steep curve of the relationship
between an uncorrected BER and a corrected BER)
In this case, we might care about the threshold of BER for switching. and
a more finer value should be executable.

With best regards,

TOMO
