RE: Please read and comment on GMPLS P&R DT documents
Hi Sudheer & Team,
Some comments on the Analysis document:
One comment on the table on page 18: the evaluation
of robustness seems to be somewhat in conflict with
the text on robustness in Section 8.1, which notes
that the less pre-planning that is done for recovery
schemes the greater the robustness, due to the
possibility of failures affecting both working and
recovery paths (subject to having enough resources
reserved for recovery). Also it looks like the
numbering is reversed from the figure on page 8.
Section 8.6.3 is a little confusing, it looks like
some of the points are about SONET/SDH
Protection Schemes in particular, not SONET/SDH
transport in general. I'm not sure which the section
was intended to discuss, characteristics of
SONET/SDH protection or SONET/SDH technology.
Generally like the classification of restoration
schemes, it's basically the same as was defined in
the GMPLS Architecture - perhaps there should be
a reference to that document as well.
Cheers,
Lyndon Ong

Hi Folks:
Please note that the "GMPLS Protection and Restoration
Design Team"
has produced the following two documents (1st version)...
Recovery (Protection and Restoration) Terminology for GMPLS
http://search.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-mannie-gmpls-recovery-terminolo
gy-00.txt
Analysis for GMPLS-based Recovery Mechanisms(including
Protection and Restoration)
http://www.cs.odu.edu/~sudheer/draft-design-team-gmpls-recovery-analysis-00.
txt
We request you to read and comment on them as quickly as you
can.
