And these two flavors were developed to two sets of requirements.
Base GMPLS comes from the requirements of IP networks that happen
to use TDM, WDM technologies at the lower layers. The ASON
extensions come from the additional requirements of (not necessarily
IP) transport networks.
I do not believe we have a third set of requirements. Can we please
avoid creating a third variant of the protocol?
