RE: ASON reqts

Title: RE: ASON reqts

Actually this is not factual.  I emailed Osama several times to ask for status and to have the draft updated and there was no reply.  Whether there is interest outside of the authors is less clear, however it was most certainly not dropped without several attempts to urge progress onward.

IPO is shutting down.  The draft would more likely be appropriate as an individual contribution draft at this point.

The IPO-ASON draft was dropped unceremoniously from the IPO WG drafts some time ago. It probably is a victim to the current state of the IPO WG and the level of interest in its activities. The fact that the draft expired doesn't explain why it was removed from the WG drafts. Other expired drafts are still sitting their.

If there is interest, a new revision could be worked out to include the latest ASON related work as per the ITU meeting in January 2003. However I don't think IPO is the right place for it.
