If we agree that there is probably a protocol which operates
across the three planes that we've defined (request routing,
distribution and accounting) then I'd summarize the debates
with respect to that protocol (call it the "advertisement
protocol") as:
	1. advertising surrogates vs. content (or both)
	2. which metrics are required vs. optional metrics
	3. should "metric negotitation" be in-line to the
	protocol
	4. what properties (or metrics) should the protocol
	be required to have to make a best surrogate
	selection
	5. though the protocol will treat cdns as black
	boxes, should it include some visibility into
	the cdn (similar to the advertising surrogates
	question)
	6. what are the critical parameters to negotiate
	(e.g. content types, other metrics etc).

I would encourage people to think in terms of what is REQUIRED
vs. what is WANTED.... in my experience, the best protocol
successes have followed the KISS principle
