The internet draft that I sent to the list was (intended as ;^) the first
cut at one of the three documents Oliver mentions. There are only two more
documents expected (request-routing and accounting). If there are those
that feel the distribution requirements weren't abstract enough,
alternative formulations are solicited.
FWIW, my focus was indeed to document requirements for a distribution
protocol. It was specifically not to document requirements for a
distribution system. That's why the draft is mostly about the type of
information that the protocol must exchange. (That, along with performance
constraints, is how I view protocol requirements.)
I do think it is a good idea to see what how the other requirements drafts
look before reaching too many conclusions. So, although I'll gladly
participate in any discussion of distribution requirements, my tendency is
not to drive to consensus yet on the outstanding issues.
