Just my ten pence..

Are there any drafts in progress to see?

Also - can I get some feedback:
There is an assumption that the core revenue from CDNs will be from Content
Royalty (Pay per view etc).

Given that any content can be 're-sourced' (perhaps currently only by tekkys
but in the near future) by anyone for example 'P2P' services, how does the
P2P network ever finance itself? The CPs are not going to replace the income
that every one thought they would get (and didn't) from ad banners three
years ago. There's a ton load more Advertisers than CPs. The CDN maths
doesn't add up for me..

It seems important to me to resolve this question before any bandwidth
hungry authentication schemes and the like are piled into the protocols. All
these may (and I'm only 'proofing' the idea in my own head) be unnecessary
if email collection or subscription to metadata lists becomes, for want of a
better word, 'vogue' and packet billing falls by the wayside. i.e. Finding
the source is where the revenue is and NOT maintaining the connection...

In fact IP Multicast would seem pretty complete as a solution for Content
Delivery Network already, which leaves me wondering why the ISPs and
Backbone Providers don't pull their finger out and deploy technology that
works across the Internet rather than re-invent technology which many top
academics have been designing successfully for years.

Is it that the CDNs would rather pay for immense bandwidth and then pay more
for Unicast Patches all over the place. Does this create a barrier to entry
for smaller competing CPs with more compelling content?

I though the whole idea was to develop a Packet Switched network. It seems
that the CDNs and VoIP companies are reinventing Circuit Switching ON TOP of
IP - Which is pointless, even from a bandwidth point of view, let alone
cost, management and stability...
