Even more to the point, does anyone seriously envision any
distribution plan where you could have enough concurrent
receivers to justify using multicast *except* when the material
is being provided live?
Yes, you could "wait a few seconds" to fetch the material. But
how much material can be demanded within "a few seconds" for
on-demand material? This is obviously only the very most popular
material, which caching deals with very well.
