ietf list, then a followup on a yahoo groups list I created.

The bottom line is that it seems they finalize the agenda just late enough for 
us  to have no chance to get cheap tickets without committing to stay the 
entire week -- which is just what many of the IETF "upper echelon" would 
prefer in the interests of cross-fertilization, but which doesn't seem to work 
so well when budgets run tight.

This problem might have been ameliorated if other airlines follow(Ed) NW"s lead 
and drop the advance purchase requirement from 21 to 14 days.
