That estimate is completely bogus. It's a wild misrepresentation of some
obsolete information that was once on the Sendmail Inc. web pages: viz.,
that more than 75% of the Internet's SMTP servers were running Sendmail.
(The current web pages also have obsolete information, but I don't see
the wild misrepresentation. Where exactly did you get the quote?)
