The protocol design team report that was sent to the mailing list by
your co-chair last week said:
"Because the proposed IDN solution is for the presentation-layer of
applications, the protocol design team proposes that the IDN WG allow
the Applications Area to finish the work on the specific protocol
proposal. The people in the Applications Area are most familiar with
the problems associated with changing the presentation layer."
The protocol design team did not volunteer to do the work. The
Applications Area Directors have said they are willing to take the
work on in the Apps area. Obviously, anyone from this WG would be
invited to help.
