I'm not sure this is a good idea for all applications - in particular,
I think it would be a bad idea for email.  Partially because email is more
reliable if MTAs don't do unnecessary transformations on messages, and
partially because in email there's really no way to know the capabilities
of the "ultimate" receiver (there may in fact be multiple receivers).

It might be that more precise wording of your statement would address
this concern, though offhand I cannot suggest text that would do so.
