You are relying on a) particular font representation differences on your
screen, and b) user perceptual skills that are not always present.
In point of fact, this "attack" has been performed, presumably with some
success. The fact that it has some technical differences from the
current
source of worry is a minor point.
The real point is that we have moved from technical specification into
analysis of human behavior and the IETF is exceedingly bad at this
latter
activity, particularly with respect to predictions of the future for
problems that are not already significant.

Sorry, no. 'B' and 'beta' are quite different. The difference is quite
clear on my screen. (or, rather, it is as clear as 0 and O.
