This represents both a failure to understand how things can be done in the 
IETF and what specific things are being done now.

The choice for separation was made carefully, after failure to make the 
split caused problems.

You are, of course, entitled to your own preferences.  However personal 
preferences are not all that relevant during a Last Call.
