How far into the future?  Linear B is planned for Unicode 4.0 -- look
for it about 18 months from now -- and I hate to say this, but Linear B
fits into a single 256-character block.  And the number of other ancient
scripts that experts know enough about to encode is not that great.
Sorry, but there simply aren't MILLIONS of characters waiting to be
encoded.
