First there would have to be a Counter128 data type defined,
followed by a 5 year transition period in which Counter64/Overflow64
pairs are defined along with Counter128s. :-)

If a counter can wrap 64 bits in a reasonable polling interval, then
perhaps the granularity of the counter is set too low?
