Hi,

During a discussion of the MIB boilerplate on the mibs mailing list, a proposal arose to change the title of rfc2570bis for consistency with the proposed boilerplate. This occurred at the same time that the set of nine documents from the SNMPv3 WG were in the author's final 48-hour review period.

The proposal was to change the title from "Introduction and Applicability Statements for the Internet-Standard Management Framework" to be "Introduction and Applicability Statements for the Internet-Standard SNMP Management Framework".

After discussions with IETF meeting attendees, we believe that the consensus is to keep the title as it was when the WG document received IESG approval. Since there were no objections on the WG list to the title at that point, we don't think there will be any now.  If anyone has strong objection to keeping the title as it was approved, i.e., "Introduction and Applicability Statements for the Internet-Standard Management Framework", they should post their objection to the SNMPv3 mailing list by December 1st.
