Interplanetary Internet (IPN): Architectural Definition
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-irtf-ipnrg-arch-00.txt

This ID suggests a separte Internet for each planet (or
space-ship, or whatever) with a 'Bundle Layer' for the
connections between them.

Certainly an eye-opening read but probably slightly off-topic.
