It would be nice if you would write up a draft proposing this.
There are theoretical strengths in map-exchange routing
systems, and such systems benefit from well-designed
packet-header encodings which express a path through a
topology discovered through the exchange of maps among routers.
Do you think that a scheme to encode physical-proximity
can coexist with a scheme to encode topological-proximity?
That could be a handy feature...
