RE: yesterday
I am a bit puzzled when we present SCTP as a generic solution, or say things like "adopting SCTP would require an API change". SCTP is a transport protocol, just like TCP and UDP. It fills different needs than TCP or UDP, and is arguably a good match for some applications. The issue of whether an application uses SCTP, or TCP, or UDP, is driven by the application's requirements, not by the use of multi-homing. Lode's presentation explained how SCTP can be used to take advantage of the multi-addressing variants of site multi-homing, which is good news for the SCTP based applications. But we still need to make sure that applications based on TCP or UDP also work well.
