Let's be clear that all they are giving up is the small amount of privacy that is optionally available in IPv6 by using temporary values in the IID. They are not giving up privacy in any general sense, which is mainly an applications layer issue.

We have to be very careful about this to avoid any risk of
misinformed urban legends about multi6 and privacy.

If multi6, for example, extends the scope of a temporary IID
from one to several interfaces or even from one to several sessions,
we don't have a privacy problem. If it *only* works with an Ethernet-
derived IID, we might have a problem.
