Off-the-shelf XPATH tools will most likely support more than the subset
so I fail to see why this is a problem. In fact, I would like to support
full XPATH in an implementation since we have XPATH anyway (since we use
libxml). Having to support another subtree filtering mechanism is just
added code and complexity for no gain. So hopefully the subtree filtering
maps to an XPATH subset (in which case we can just map and use XPATH
for everything). (But if it maps to an XPATH subset, then of course the
question is why we do subtree filtering in the first place...)
