...and more importantly in the long run, nothing that requires changing
dips or jumpers can be automated.  I can write an expect script that will
ssh into a power strip and power cycle something and send a break on the
console via a dial-up.  Can't do that with dip switches, so dip switches
don't scale.  I know that sounds stupid, but we've got to consider scaling
if we're writing standards for the long term.
