> We've been having this argument for too long. We need to stop NOW, > pick a format, and move on. The endless re-visiting of attribute format > is holding up other key work. This discussion does need to stop. The RADEXT WG has already discussed this issue extensively, and come to consensus. Re-design of the RADIUS attribute format (as originally advocated in the "Design Guidelines" document) was discussed and rejected. "Diameter in RADIUS" proposals were discussed and rejected. The consensus of the WG has been to extend the RADIUS attribute format in backward compatible manner, and that is a requirement in the RADEXT WG charter. Since other IETF documents have a dependency on attribute extension, we need to get on with it. Perhaps the quickest way to do that is to bring the document to WG last call, and focus on addressing the last call comments from this point forward. |
