I think there would be a very useful benefit in 64 bit data types. I've
recently been having to spend quite a bit of time performing a variety
of 4.2Gig uploads/downloads just to verify correct gigawords handling in
new RADIUS accounting code. 64 bit counters would mean one less thing to
handle in accounting code, and one less thing to have to worry about
testing.
If this thinking is in an acceptable general direction, I'm happy to put
it into a draft as soon as I'm back home with a shell access to xml2rfc.
It looks interesting.
