Hi Simon,

I think, given my limited understanding of TLS, that this is a server
problem. See:

I was able to workaround it by copying the cert at:

  http://secure.globalsign.net/cacert/sureserverEDU.pem

to:

  /usr/local/share/ca-certifcates/GTE_CyberTrust_Educational_CA.crt

and running update-ca-certificates.

(Note that the file in /usr/local/share/ca-certifcates/ must end
in .crt, not .pem).
