filter folder: IMAP Error: could not parse command

I just created the filter folder 

  /since:2010-09-27&before:2010-09-29/%INBOX

but it didn't work.  With (setq elmo-imap4-debug t), here's the
contents of *IMAP4 DEBUG*:

  [10:31:11] <- elmo-imap462 uid search  sentsince 27-SEP-2010 sentbefore 29-SEP-2010
  [10:31:11] -> elmo-imap462 BAD Could not parse command
  *elmo-imap462* BAD arrived
  [10:31:11] => ((bad (nil "Could not parse command")))

Is this a GMail bug, or...?
