I've been playing around in offline mode for the first time and have
some questions.
I somehow (?) managed to get my imap inbox folder into an odd state,
where I can't seem to get it to prefetch messages. (For that matter,
trying to prefetch another folder doesn't work either, now that I just
tried.)
There are messages marked with "!" that are not in the cache, as
verified by trying to view them when in offline mode. But when I am
back into connected mode and type "I" in the Folder buffer, nothing
happens.
I just get the message "checking <folder> is done".
And no messages fetched and no hint of an error.
I was able to get a bunch of the folder fetched, but not all of it..
Any idea what gives?
Is there some cache limit that I've bumped into so that prefetching
doesn't work? It's a big folder. Actually, the .elmo directory seems
to be at 501MB (a number that suggests some limit...)
So, I just ran elmo-cache-expire-by-size seemed and it ended up deleting
most of the cache. And now it seems I'm able to prefetch again...
I don't see any sort of elmo-cache variable that controls cache
size. Is there one?
Am I correct in assuming that prefetching more stuff than fits in the
cache is not a good idea? :-)
Suggestions?
