56km ultra-marathon between Sabie and Lydenburg over the Long Tom Pass. The first 35km climbs from 1000m to 2150m, the next seven undulates with a pretty nasty climb at the end, then 14km of downhill dash to the finish.
The weather was cold and wet, with mist, light rain, heavy rain and low cloud. Oh, and a 35km/hr wind over the top. Did I say that it was cold?
290 runners finished, first home in 3:40, last in 7:45. I did it in an easy 6:11. Highly recommended.
There's a longer description floating around the 'Net somewhere ...
