Re: [ietf-action #1331] On spam filtering (fwd)



I queried the secretariat about Keith's response on inappropriate spam filtering. This is the reply - see the trouble ticket number for my response.

I think it's appropriate to do spam control, but I asked for the "language" rules to be turned off - colorful language is not big enough by volume that it's a problem for the WG chairs to deal with it.

In reviewing the spam-control guidelines, very little applies to
this situation. The only change to the IESG statement 'mail-
submit-policy' is the contact address at the end of the page:
poised@lists.tislabs.com

This group no longer exists, my suggestion is to
use 'spamcontrol@ietf.org' as the contact on that page.

I've posted a new page (will be updated overnight) relating to
spam prevention. There is also a new alias dedicated to this
topic. A message to ietf-announce will be going out tomorrow.
