Hello Thomas and Erik,

My name is Paul Congdon of Hewlett Packard and Project Director of IEEE
802.1AB (Device and Connectivity Discovery -
http://www.ieee802.org/1/pages/802.1ab.html). I saw Pedro's request for a
BoF at IETF 57 and was wondering what the status of this request was. Pedro
has asked me to present our work and the LLDP protocol at this BoF, but I am
having extreme difficulty working in this travel commitment. I was also
curious what the chances of this work moving forward actually are given the
current level of maturity and flexibility within IEEE 802.1AB, as well as
the history of the PTOPO work within the IETF several years ago. The IEEE
802.1AB discovery work picked up where the PTOPO group left off and is
intended to support the requirements of a discovery protocol used to
populate RFC 2922. Please advise me on the status of this BoF and the
consideration of starting a working group in this area.

Regards,
