The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft 'Certificate Extensions and 
Attributes Supporting Authentication in PPP and Wireless LAN' 
<draft-ietf-pkix-wlan-extns-04.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This document 
is the product of the Public-Key Infrastructure (X.509) Working Group. 

The IESG contact person is Bellovin, Steve.

hgTechnical Summary

Certificates have to be flagged for particular uses.  Thus, an email certificate can't be used for code-signing.  This document describes how to mark a certificate for PPP and Wireless LAN authentication.
