Professor Alan Cairns
Department of Political Science
University of Saskatchewan
will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on November 30 at 8:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Canada: Can We Survive?
Author of numerous books and articles on the Canadian constitution, Professor Cairns is ideally qualified to assess Canada's future. Past President of the Canadian Political Science Association, former Chair of the UBC Political Science Department, an emeritus professor at UBC since 1995, and recently a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto and Queen's, he was twice President of the Vancouver Institute. He has long argued that Canadians are ill-prepared for the possible break-up of Canada--the subject of his address to The Institute. Professor Cairns is the recent recipient of the Governor General's International Award for Canadian Studies.
