Desert Dust and the World’s Environments

Dr. Goudie’s main research interests include the geomorphology of deserts, climate change, environmental archaeology and the impact of humans on the environment. He has worked extensively in southern Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Namibia) and the Middle East, including Oman, Jordan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. As a distinguished physical geographer he has been awarded numerous distinctions including the Founder’s Medal of the Royal Geographical Society in 1991, and the Geological Society of America’s Farouk El-Baz Prize for desert research in 2007.
