will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on April 1, 2000 at 8:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Will Theatre Survive?
Called "one of the finest living Canadian playwrights," Ms. Pollock won the Governor General's Award for Drama twice: in 1981 for her play "Blood Relations" and in 1986 for "Doc." Among her other awards are the Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists award for best radio drama "Sweet Land of Liberty" in 1980. Her work covers a wide range of topics from history and politics to more personal and individual-focussed works. Ms. Pollock's work is broadcast regularly on CBC Radio and Television. This lecture is co-sponsored by UBC's Program in Canadian Studies.
