Identifying RSVP (rfc-2205) and RSVP-TE while implementing

Hi,
    I am trying to implement RSVP-TE by extending the free source code
distributed by ISI.  In the same router, is it necessary to run the
RSVP(for QOS purpose-rfc-2205) and RSVP-TE?. if yes, how to identify
RSVP packets whether it belongs to RSVP or RSVP-TE.

    Both use the same meesage type. But there is a difference in object
format (like session, sender template...)

    Please clarify.
