The variables that drive the decommissioning of proxies apply
globally from everything I've seen. The trend is steady as well.
The thresholds in North America tend to be a little different. However,
the problems, issues, constraints etc are very similiar in NA vs ROW.
One could argue that it is only a matter of time that this will happen
overseas as well. Given the rate at which this is observed, the changes
have been so rapid that overseas should feels this in the fairly
immediate future.

Oh, no doubt the costs for bandwidth are different. But there's a
little more that goes into making the equasion of "cost of caching <
cost of bandwidth saved". And those numbers are the ones to worry
about. Capital & expense monies are similiar, other variables such
as cachability, hit rates etc are as well.
So, the equasion is the same, the trends are the same, the thresholds
are different and therefore the timeframes.
Now, operationally speaking, everybody globally is harvesting the
exact same messes associated with proxy technology.
I'm not here to predict impending doom. The point was that there
are strong signs that the market is changing, and if we're basing
the viability of a technology option on the presence of a key
component.. we should be watching it carefully.
