It is approximately the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the effort to
make Internet mail support "international character-sets".
So I suppose it is fitting that we get to be re-introduced to the "just
send the raw data" argument that was held so fondly by some.
Happily, they did not win the debate then, but it is curious that the
lessons from that earlier exercise seems to be unlearned by some.
