I have read this draft and it looks OK to me. With regard to the
open issue listed in the (temporary) Appendix A, viz.,
o Need to check whether we want to reuse the type value which
meanwhile belongs to Rensselaer Technology Park or whether
we go for a new type value specifically allocated for this
purpose.
my suggestion would be to continue to use Ethertype 0x814C, as
Ethertypes are relatively scarce resources. This one was was
obviously obtained by Marty Schoffstall -- the contact address
listed for him in RFC 1089 is the same as the one listed in the IEEE
public Ethertype database for type 0x814C -- so I don't think there
is a question of misappropriation. If it's possible to get in touch
with him or with the other the authors of RFC 1089, it should be
possible to get the contact information for Ethertype 0x814C
suitably updated.
