Whatever cases there are that can be made about strange fast optical
switching technology, comparing 128 bits is within the same order of
magnitude as comparing 48 bits, so it's unlikely to be an issue.

Back on topic: The way multihoming is done will have a much more profound
impact on how much work routers have to do.
