be proportional to logarithm of the network size.
Not if the RIRs don't change their policies. They give out /32s so
there is a linear relationship between the number of /64s / /48s in use
and the number of distinct entries in the global IPv6 routing table.
I vote we fire the RIRs as soon as v4 is obsolete because they just
don't get it. (And they're costing the community way too much money to
boot.)
Assuming we'll see significant v6 deployment, my guess is 15k - 60k by
2010 (depending on the success of our efforts here), at which point the
v4 table will be around 200k.
