Specifically, I think we need to pretty much draw the line at on-the-wire
protocol, as is traditional in the IETF. In that, I'm including what you
see on the serial ports, if any, but I don't think it's appropriate for an
IETF draft to mandate specific hardware configurations, or inside-the-box
implementation details. I'd like to focus on what the operator sees going
across the wire.
