How to contribute to the group?

Hi all,

     I just signed up on friday to this mail alias and this is the first
time
I subscribed to a IETF mailing list.  How to get started, and How to
contribute
to the group, and what is the role that a member of the mailing
list is supposed to do? Could you please pass me some
info regarding this.
