Backus obit

I see on nytimes.com that John Backus died Saturday at 82.  Given our
reliance on ABNF, perhaps a moment of silence on the list is appropriate.

Those of us so old that Fortran was our first computer language have
an additional reason to mourn.

A reminder that the giants on whose shoulders we stand are mortal.
