No doubt it work even better for us.

So what do you suggest we do? Embrace a "technology" that we know is flawed and harmful, leading to more work jusst so we can give people more ways to shoot themselves in the foot?


Also, what is this nonsense of "eliminate the use of NATs". There is no NAT in IPv6 so there is nothing to eliminate.

It's very easy to bash OSI, but in the mean time the IETF leadership thought it was good enough to replace IPv4 more than 10 years ago. And we've been more than happy to borrow from them on other occasions: AFAIK, the majority of large IP networks run IS-IS.

It's our job as engineers to build good protocols. Whether they're adopted isn't up to us, but second guessing ourselves from the start and building inferior products just because we're unable to predict the future is ridiculous.

Now please, can we get to work?
