Hi,

Another thing that could be added to Appendix A is the ability to deploy
new transport layer protocols without having to upgrade intermediary
devices. To demonstrate that this may be a useful property in the near
future, a couple of upcoming transport protocol examples could be

* SCTP, which, besides its original telephony signalling use, could also
be useful for Instant Messaging e.g., use the separate message boundary
capability to allow file transfers to be carried over the same SCTP
connection as the human typed text.
